FR-AV2
Professional 2-Channel Audio Recorder
Say Goodbye to Tinny Audio
Add Sonic Clarity for Videos That Wow!
The Tascam FR-AV2 is a compact and feature-packed audio recorder for film makers that combines state-of-the-art 32-bit floating point technology with timecode generation and synchronisation. This not only ensures a significantly enhanced sound experience – it also simplifies the entire process from recording to editing. Synchronise the recorder with industry-standard video equipment without the need for an external timecode device. And use the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter for wireless monitoring.
No-Clip Recordings
With the FR-AV2’s advanced 32-bit float recording at up to 192 kHz, you’ll never have to scrap a recording because of distorted or weak audio levels. When recording at lower bit depths, such as 24-bit and 16-bit, loud sound sources can cause digital clipping that cannot be fixed later.
Dual analogue-to-digital converter technology captures recordings with greater dynamic range and clarity – so you can increase the level of dialogue without distracting changes in tone or dynamics.
Premium XLR/TRS Combo Inputs
Connect microphones and professional line-level sources directly to the FR-AV2’s dual Ultra HDDA preamps. With an equivalent input noise of just –127 dBu, you can capture audio with maximum clarity and virtually noise-free.
In addition, the 3.5-mm stereo input allows you to use wireless microphones, lavalier mics and any other audio sources you may have in your arsenal.
Ultimate Timecode Generation
With the FR-AV2, you’ll be able to streamline your videography rig and take less gear to shoots. The recorder sends and receives timecode via its 3.5-mm input/output for DSLR cameras, and also supports jam-sync for any external timecode devices.
Using the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter, you can also wirelessly sync timecode with supported Atomos UltraSync Blue devices.
Wireless Audio Monitoring
Adding the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter allows you to monitor audio wirelessly on the fly. Select one of three quality levels to ensure you get the best possible signal depending on the recording environment, including connection quality and sound quality.
Wired and Bluetooth monitoring work in parallel so that two people can listen at the same time.
iPhone Filmmaker, Meet Your Professional Audio Interface
Whether you’re always on the go or creating content spontaneously, the FR-AV2 fits easily into your iPhone video rig using a USB-C cable. This allows you to use professional-grade XLR inputs for superior sound quality, as well as output timecode and synchronise it with your smartphone.
With timecode input/output and your phone, the FR-AV2 turns your mobile videos into professional productions.
Simple and Comprehensive Field Recorder
The FR-AV2 is one of the most comprehensive audio recorders for videography on the market. It lets you focus on your video shoot, not your audio gear.
With the ultra-compact recorder mounted to your camera, you get dual professional audio inputs, 32-bit float recording, onboard timecode generation and synchronisation, and wireless audio monitoring capability – all in a single rugged package.
