DA-3000SD
High-definition PCM/DSD audio recorder and AD/DA converter
State-of-the-art mastering with Tascam
The Best Thing That Can Happen to Your Precious Recordings.
The Tascam DA-3000SD combines a top-of-the-range, reference-grade master recorder and AD converter for musically correct recording at high sample rates. Using only the highest quality components, the DA-3000SD continues to set the industry standard for professional master recording and AD/DA conversion.
Professional Stereo Master Recorder with Superior AD/DA Converters
Following in the footsteps of its highly acclaimed predecessors, the DA-3000SD is an indispensable master recorder and professional monitoring device in a single rack-mountable unit.
Bouncing a recording in a DAW alone cannot capture the quality offered by the DA-3000SD as a master recorder. When used as an AD/DA converter in a DAW production environment, it provides unparalleled, noise-free monitoring, enhancing the clarity and depth of the audio.
Masterful Audio with PCM Or DSD Recording
For recording, the DA-3000SD can capture audio at 192 kHz for PCM as well as 2.8 MHz and 5.6 MHz for DSD, the highest quality recording format commercially available. Based on project needs, users can select which recording method best matches the music’s characteristics and save the settings.
Multiple units can be synchronised for sample-accurate recording and playback, allowing for the creation of a DSD multitrack recording environment. Recording directly to SD card media makes transportation and storage of sessions simple and easy to handle.
Utilising High-Quality Audio Circuitry for AD/DA Conversion
In order to achieve an exceptional sonic profile, the power section uses an EI core transformer with separate windings for the digital and analogue circuits, while the output audio circuit features a dual monaural configuration with two high-quality circuits.
In addition, all stages of the audio circuitry are balanced to reduce noise on both the input and output paths. Equipped with a TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator), the DA-3000SD’s clock generator provides ±1 ppm accuracy for digital audio processing with no jitter.
Wide Range of Input and Output Terminals
The DA-3000SD is equipped with a comprehensive selection of input and output terminals for connection to a variety of studio equipment, including audio interfaces, microphone preamplifiers, dynamic processors and more.
Analogue I/O ports are provided via XLR and RCA connectors, while PCM digital connectivity is provided through SPDIF, RCA coaxial and AES/EBU connectors. DSD digital connections are provided via BNC SDIF-3 connectors.
Use as a Portable High-Definition DA Converter
Highly portable, the DA-3000SD fits into a 1U rack space and can be taken from studio to studio for detailed and reliable monitoring in any environment. With its wordclock capability, it can also be used as a high-precision clock generator or synchronised to an external clock source for musically correct, pure phase-coherent audio.
Use as an A/D Converter/Recorder for Mastering
By sending the stereo mix from a DAW and recording it with the DA-3000SD, you can capture the sound source at a higher resolution than is possible with a DAW bounce alone. When using vintage or other outboard gear during the mastering process, the DA-3000SD can be placed after the external hardware to capture the audio colouration in all its high-resolution beauty.
