Get Ready for Professional Audio Recording With the Nikon ZR

In collaboration with Nikon Corporation, Tascam is preparing to unveil the Nikon Kit "CA-XLR2d-N", a fresh addition to Tascam’s XLR microphone adapter range designed for mirrorless cameras. The kit enables digital audio transmission via the accessory shoe of the Nikon mirrorless camera model ZR and was first introduced by Nikon on 10 September 2025. Full product details are expected to be released in early October 2025.

About the CA-XLR2d

The CA-XLR2d is a microphone adapter for mirrorless cameras developed by Tascam in 2021 in collaboration with major camera manufacturers. When attached to a mirrorless camera, it provides two balanced microphone inputs, enabling professional-quality audio recording directly to the camera. Its XLR/TRS inputs feature high-performance HDDA microphone preamps that deliver high sound quality, low noise and a wide dynamic range.

Using a high-performance A/D converter, the adapter enables the direct transmission of lossless digital audio to the camera via a compatible accessory shoe. Kits for for Canon and Fujifilm cameras as well as an analogue kit are currently available. With the Nikon kit coming soon, Nikon ZR users will also have the opportunity to record premium audio along with their videos.
